Thinking back on the blog that I made about my mission in
Sweden I would really like to write down some of the things that I believe is
better about Sweden then the USA. And after this I will probably end up making
a blog about the benefits that the USA has over Sweden. I am a person that finds the
most joy in life in the outdoors. I have also grown up with a family that loves
going on hikes every weekend. Nature is definitely a great part of myself! And
the Swedes themselves hold dearly on to that as well! Sweden is a part of Scandinavia
and the environment is very very green! In fact, the entire country is nothing
but a large forest. You could be walking around inside the city, which is
gorgeous itself, but as soon as you hit the border of town it turns immediately
into thick forestry. The Swedes will do many things to protect the nature. In
fact, they love nature so much that most of Sweden will shut down for a period
of 5 months around July just so swedes can sit back and enjoy the surroundings
around them! And one has to love the wildlife, it is not everyday that someone
like me, coming from America, can look outside and see a hedgehog walking right
beside the window well. So hands down Sweden is wonderful when it comes to the
outdoors! I would really love to take a one or two month vacation back to
Scandinavia and hike around in the mountains. It is hard to come up with
negative things to say the culture. It may even sometimes be hard to come
up with a really excellent one. The Swedes live a special law that is essentially not
too much not too little. So things may not always be so outstanding, but there are never
those times when you do not enjoy yourself. However Sweden is a large home to
immigrants. Larger so then we are! It is great to see so many influences there. While I would normally die for a plate of Swedish meatballs another thing
that I came to fall in love with his the immigrant food there. Anybody who has
beds, or visited, Scandinavia knows how wonderful kebab is, it doesn't matter
if it's thrown on fries or pizza or a burrito, it's amazing nonetheless! But
really the I myself love how laid back and chill the Swedes are.
Here in America we can really stressed as we run around from place to place and
fill in the day with our extravagant workload. Sometimes I feel that Americans
are not so great with being able to just sit still in one spot and really
capture the beauty that surrounds us in nature and then our selves. I really do
love Sweden, and it definitely is as much a home to me as America is.
